Calvin J. Hawthorne is an Associate Attorney with Vandeveer Garzia. Before joining Vandeveer, Calvin practiced criminal defense with the Washtenaw County Office of the Public Defender. After graduating from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, Calvin mentored a cohort of first-generation college students from his alma mater to help them navigate the unique challenges of first-generation college students. Calvin’s interest in basketball led to an invitation to be the manager for the Southern Illinois University School of Law Women’s Basketball Team. He continues to enjoy the sport as a recreational interest.
