JAMES K. THOME has vast trial experience in a variety of liability, insurance and property matters. Jim has tried more than one hundred cases, to conclusion, before juries. He has specific expertise in complex litigation involving construction, employment law and insurance coverage. In addition, he handles legal matters involving advertising injury claims and intellectual property. Although based in the metropolitan Detroit area, he has handled matters for clients throughout the state of Michigan.
After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1970, Jim served in the U.S. Army until 1972. That service included a tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam with the 18th Military Police Brigade. He is admitted to practice law before all Michigan courts and administrative tribunals, all federal courts in the state of Michigan, the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He serves as a case evaluator for the Wayne County and Oakland County Circuit Courts. He has arbitrated and mediated disputes privately at the request of other attorneys.
